Contrary to popular belief, volunteers do not sign up because they have plenty of time. They show up because they have ‘plenty’ of heart. Do you have the heart to make time.
When we started almost six decades ago, Blue Cross Of India was entirely volunteer run. Over the years a body of over 2000 registered volunteers have been the spine of BCI, and continue to help support us in innumerable ways.
If you care, if you have the heart, come join this ever growing group - the 2000 plus beating hearts inside and the millions outside, need us - they need you. Join hands to build a compassionate world that we can share with them.

Lauded by the media as big boon to pet owners in Chennai and neighbouring areas who had no options to provide a safe and dignified send off to their departed pets.
A voluntary donation of Rs 2500/- or more to defer the costs for a cremation is suggested. All donors who donate Rs.25,000 or more at a time will, in addition to the satisfaction they get of helping animals, be designated as an Associate Life Member.
It is the privilege of Blue Cross of India to have over 1300 ALMs, many of whom have been repeat donors over the years, and several over the decades that we have been in the service of animals.
In addition to your donation being most optimally put to use - directly towards animal welfare, the membership gives you the satisfaction of being associated with a six decade old non profit who's members and volunteers have dedicated themselves to the welfare of the voiceless.
Take the BCI Pledge
The first step to shape our world into one that values and respects all animals is to recognise the intrinsic value of non human animals. A value that goes far beyond the one that considers them a property or even a pet. That all living things are intrinsically - for and by themselves valuable to our fragile ecosystem.
THE BCI PLEDGE
- I will speak up for animals in distress and report abuse/cruelty or neglect to the police.
- I will lobby to improve the laws that recognise animal rights.
- I will support law enforcement across the country in their efforts to enforce animal cruelty laws.
- I will talk to family and friends about animal welfare and encourage them to learn more.
